Oct. 7th, 2025 11:17 amThe absolute nuance and power in changing a static character into a different appearance.
From what used to be a dispassionate, aloof, distracted face, comes a little more light in the eyes and a naughty grin. We already know these characters and despite what has been said of ad-libs and yes-ands, the character's face has remained static. But then we get a naughty grin in panel number three of this page. I might be very deep into TADC right now but that's a Jax grin. Or a Traebit grin. Or a trickster(TM) grin.
What I mean to say is, despite a claimed "lack of artistic skill", the artist still has a bank of cultural references and a backlog of tropes that one sees in every piece of visual media, ever, and so there can still be creativity within a small little pen drawn webcomic from 2001.
Which is to say that no matter how "skilled" or "talented" i may appear to the layman, I still have not the ability to do a long running series because I haven't practiced that skill at all.
Which is to say, hear me out about Dave.
